'Switch Terminal Type' added to Harnesses
You can now right-click on a terminal in your Harness and select 'Switch Terminal Type' to change the terminal while maintaining your preexisting connections, wires, custom parts, heat shrinks, and other design parameters! This option works on all terminals: Ferrules, Loose Wire Ends, Ring Terminals, Spade Terminals, and Quick Connect Terminals.
'Switch Terminal Type' is also available in the Harness Assembly on the left side of your design space.
Remap Connector Connections
Now, when you change a Connector in your Harness, you will have the option to remap your existing connections to that Connector if the Cavities on the new Connector have changed. When you have remapped your Cavities, your Harness will update while keeping all other Connection parameters identical. This dialog can be useful if you are switching between Connectors with Cavities that are alphabetical, numeric, or if they have any other different set of Cavity options.
Create New Part from Search Dialog
We've added a quick shortcut to create a new part (Connector, Backshell, Wire, etc.) to your library if we cannot find an appropriate match in the library. Now, you can simply double-click this option to create a new part without returning to the File -> New screen!
Device Top Level Enhancements
Devices have been updated to have several new features on their Top Level drawing. As with Harnesses and Systems, Devices now have a Bill of Materials (BOM) and all endpoints in your Device have a reference to a BOM Id. In addition to this, Top Level drawings can now be printed, and can display a Notes Table, Revision Table, Text Boxes, and Images.
Device Production Data
We have also added the Bill of Materials and Electrical Interface as separate output tabs to your Device drawings. With this, you can now print these pages, save them to PDF, and export this information to Microsoft Excel using the Export Production Data button in the top-right corner of the ribbon.
System Aggregate BOM Updates
With the new Device BOM data, you can now choose how to display Devices in your System Aggregate BOM. In particular, you can show Devices in this list as one line-item per device (as they have been included historically), or list all of your Devices constituent parts.
