Partners and Sharing

Partners are external organizations, such as contractors, manufacturers, and consultants, that you can share selected folders and designs with. Sharing with your own team members is handled by Version Control.

Creating a Partnership

Go to File > Account > Partners, or click your name in the top-right corner of RapidHarness and select Partners... Enter the email address of someone at the partner organization and press Send Invitation. They receive an email with instructions to accept the partnership.

Your partnerships and pending invitations are listed on the same page, where you can also delete them.

Sharing Folders and Designs

Select one or more folders or designs in your Library and press Share in the toolbar. You can also share the design you have open with the Share button in the Home ribbon. In the Share dialog:

  • Select a Partner.
  • Choose the Permissions for each item: Can Edit or View Only.
  • Press Share.

To change or remove sharing later, select the item in your Library and use Manage Sharing in the details pane.

Finding Shared Designs

Your Library has two areas for shared items:

  • Shared by You - designs and folders your team is sharing with Partners.
  • Shared with You - designs and folders Partners have shared with your team. You can open and edit these as you would designs in your own Library, as permissions allow.

Status tags in the Library show at a glance which items are shared, who shared them with you, which are View Only, and who is currently editing a design.

Transferring Ownership

When a contractor or manufacturer finishes a design for a partner, they can hand it over completely. Select the designs or folders in your Library, open the Admin Tools menu in the toolbar, and select Transfer Ownership. Choose the Partner and press Transfer Ownership.

The items move to the Partner's Library, and the Partner becomes their owner. Your team no longer has access to them after the transfer.
