Custom Pages

Add extra pages to your Harness, Device, and System drawings, such as an overview sheet, build notes, or a photo page. Each page has its own name and Drawing Template, and is included in your PDF and print output.

Overview

Every Harness, Device, and System has a row of page tabs: the Top Level drawing, its tables, and any custom pages you add. The tabs are shown in the same order as the pages of your PDF.

Adding a Page

Click the plus button at the end of the page tabs. A new page named 'Page 1' is added after your other pages, using the same Drawing Template as your Top Level drawing. You can add as many pages as you need.

Editing a Page

A custom page is a single sheet, the size of its Drawing Template. Add Text, Images, and Shapes to it the same way you do on the Top Level drawing.

The text substitutions in your Drawing Template, such as '$PART_NUMBER$', work on custom pages as well. Use '$PAGE_NAME$' in a template to show the name of the page. See Drawing Templates.

Working with Page Tabs

Right-click a custom page's tab to:

  • Rename the page.
  • Change Template to give the page a different Drawing Template.
  • Clone the page, along with its contents.
  • Delete the page.
  • Exclude from PDF or Include in PDF.

Drag a tab to move the page to a new position. Because the tabs follow the PDF order, this also reorders your PDF.

The Top Level drawing and the table pages can be reordered, and included or excluded, in the same way. Pages that are excluded from the PDF stay as dimmed tabs at the end.

Manage Pages

The Manage Pages dialog shows all of your pages in one list. Use it to choose which pages go in the PDF and in what order, and to add, rename, clone, delete, or change the template of your custom pages. Your changes are applied when you press Save.

To open it, right-click any page tab and select 'Manage Pages...', double-click a tab, or click the arrow next to 'Save PDF' and select 'PDF Settings...'.

Custom Pages in the Design Assembly

Each custom page's Drawing Template is listed in the Design Assembly, so you can see which template a page uses and update it when a newer Version is available.

Versioned Designs

When a design is a read-only Version, you can still change the order of its pages and which ones are included in the PDF, so you can print what you need without creating a new Version. Adding, renaming, cloning, and deleting pages, and editing their contents, are only available while the design is being edited.

PDF and Print

Custom pages are included when you Save PDF or Print, in the position shown by their tab. See Export to PDF.
