BOM Enhancements - Include/Exclude, Numbering, Sorting
We've added several enhancements and features to make editing the Bill of Materials (BOM) in RapidHarness even easier! In particular, you can now include/exclude items, edit the numbering, and adjust the sorting of your BOM.
BOM Including/Excluding
To include or exclude an element from your BOM, you can simply select the checkbox for the column 'Include' inside the edit BOM dialog. When you save changes, your BOM will be updated automatically!
BOM Numbering
You can now change the id of the items in your BOM by editing the number associated with the 'Id' column. This can be used to preserve order between revisions of a drawing, or to help categorize components.
BOM Sorting
You can now sort your BOM by selecting one or more rows and using the Up/Down arrows on the right side of the dialog, or use the new 'Sort BOM...' feature. This tool will let you configure how to sort your BOM by individual column, and gives the option to automatically renumber your BOM after sorting.
Links and Datasheets Added to Core Designs
With all of your core designs, you can now add/specify links associated with each design as well as links to datasheets! If you have added components based on the Octopart library, these fields will come pre-populated with links provided by Octopart.
When used in a Harness, you can access these links and datasheets directly when you right click on a core design in the Assembly or Top Level drawing.
Multiple Backshells, Boots, Locks, and Heat Shrinks
You can now add one or more backshells, boots, and locks to connectors in your harness drawings. In addition to this, you can also add more than one heat shrink to connectors, diodes, ferrules, loose wire ends, resistors, splices, quick connect terminals, ring terminals, and spade terminals.
You can add these components by right clicking on the parent element in the design Assembly, or by right clicking on the component in your Top Level drawing.
Manufacturer Visible in Search
We've added Manufacturer property directly to the Open and Search screens so you can view this when searching for a component.
Octopart Autosave
We have now made adding components from the Octopart library even easier! Now, when you search and find a part that you want to add to your drawing, you can simply double click this component and it will be automatically added to your drawing and saved to your library!
